Your ride. Your friends. Your day.

The Women’s Ride is a single day celebration of women’s riding. Unlike other organised rides, the Women’s Ride is not focused around a single ride or single event. It incorporates a variety of riding events from around Victoria. These include recreational group riding, casual social rides as well as different disciplines of racing.

The best part of the day is that its all about you! You can take part in an existing ride, or you can set up a ride with your family, friends, colleagues, whoever. All of the content in The Women’s Ride is generated at a grass roots level by communities of women who love to ride. It’s one day in the year when we all come together to celebrate what it means to be women on bikes.

We will be partnering with local and statewide events focused around women’s riding, and tapping in to the many programs already on offer for women’s participation. A number of hubs will be set up around Melbourne and regional Victoria to provide riders with a place to meet up, begin or end their rides and meet other people contributing to the event. For Melbourne riders a central hub will be set up in the Docklands precinct where a range of activities and entertainment will be on offer.

Anyone (women & men) can participate in the ride, with registration being strongly encouraged. Registered riders will receive a package of discounts and gifts from sponsors. Everyone’s a winner!

The Women’s Ride is an initiative of Cycling Victoria, and is supported by Vic Health, The Squeaky Wheel and is aligned with the Amy Gillett Foundation as a charitable partner. We intend for the ride be a catalyst for discussion around issues of gender in cycling, and we advocate strongly for an increased presence for women in all forms of participation.
